One day, a mysterious phenomenon occurs where all the monsters in the game become increasingly powerful and harbour otherwise unheard of abilities. Along with this, players are unable to make any progress with their characters. Naturally, these occurrences render The World rather unplayable, so a player who goes by the name of Kite decides to get to the bottom of it.

Each episode of .hack//Liminality was released with one of the original 4 .hack games and deals with events in the real world during the events of the games.

.hack//Sign follows the story about Tsukasa being mind-trapped into the game. Despite being a "fantasy quest type adventure", it does not rely on action sequences. Instead, the show is driven by mystery, slowly revealing its secrets to the viewer while paying much attention to the individual characters. Questions like what happened to Tsukasa in the real world, who he really is and why he is unable to log out are driving points of the story.

Description:
Tokyo has sunk into the ocean, along with most of the world, during a large-scale land subsidence. Aika Sumeragi is a salvager who works for a small company run by a father and daughter tandem. Alas, the company isn't exactly successful, and money is needed desperately. Thus, Aika accepts the very dangerous job of acquiring an artifact called Lagu for a hefty sum. The boss' daughter Aida Rion joins Aika on this particular mission, and the two set off.

Later on, Aika and Rion are captured by Rudolf Hagen -- an effeminate but over-sexed man who wants Lagu and Aika (and just about every pretty girl) for himself. Hargen commands a huge battleship manned exclusively by droves of cute girls in mini-skirts (the source for what is often called "fan service"). Alongside Hargen is his obsessive sister Neena, who is jealous of Aika, as well as another salvager named Gust, who's also after Lagu and has a crush on Aika as well. When Aika's special bustierre is activated, she becomes a "superwoman" who can take on whole armies by herself.

Plot Summary: Minami “Ikki” Itsuki, is a student and a delinquent. Ayashi no Ceres is about a girl named Aya Mikage who leads the life of a normal high school student until she turns 16. On her 16th birthday, her own family tries to kill her and imprisons her twin brother Aki. Aya later finds out that she possesses the blood of the "tennyo" (heavenly maiden), and when severely shaken she will transform into Ceres. If left to live, she is destined to bring ruin upon the Mikage family.

The story deals with Aya's struggle to fight with her destiny and rid herself of Ceres so she can once again become a normal teenage girl. She must avoid numerous attempts on her life made by her grandfather and other members of the Mikage family, as well as find a way to win her brother back his freedom.

Helping her is Suzumi Aogiri, a woman who also possesses tennyo blood, and Suzumi's brother-in-law Yuuhi, a boy Aya's age who is assigned to protect Aya. Working in the background is Aya's cousin Kagami who, keeping it a secret from the grandfather, tells the Mikage family's henchman Tooya not to kill Aya but to keep an eye on her and find out more about her powers as tennyo and Ceres.

He finally gets a break though, as he’s sent by his company to the tropical seas of Eastern China to deliver a disc…only his boat gets hijacked by a band of mercenaries that were hired to steal it. “Rock” (as he is newly dubbed by his captors) catches the interest of the only female merc “Revy” as she thinks he’s worth a ransom, taking him hostage. However, the disc turns out to be more trouble than its worth, and complicates things both for Rock, and the mercenaries known as Black Lagoon.

The series is initially set in present day (September 2005) Okinawa City (Koza), on Okinawa Island, near the US Kadena Air Base. In the course of the series, Saya visits locations across the world, fighting enemy chiropteran and searching for her origins.

Hideki Motosuwa, a prep school student, desperately wants to buy a Persocon but cannot afford to. One day he finds a Persocon that has been thrown away and decides to keep it. When he turns on the Persocon, all she can say is "Chii" so he decides to name her that. After a while it starts to become apparent that Chii is more than an average Persocon. Having much better performance, it seems that Chii might be a "Chobit", a type of advanced Persocon rumoured to have independent thought.

One Mega-Playboy can make 100 women pregnant and the boys also become Mega-Playboys. Karin is an agent sent to the past to find the first Mega-Playboy and stop him with a special bullet. Karin, who dreams of having her very own "Sweet Home" (a rarity in the overcrowded future) finds the original Mega-Playboy, a young man named Junta. Junta has a problem; he throws up at anything even REMOTELY sexual, you do NOT want to be around if he glimpses a girl`s panties! Perplexed, Karin shoots him anyway, then finds out she shot him with the wrong bullet! The drug inside of the bullet turns Junta into a Mega-Playboy and back. Now Karin has to figure out how to get out of the mess that she created, or else she won`t get her sweet home! Other players in this chaos are Ami, a girl that Junta grew up with (and the only one he doesn`t get sick around), Tomoko, first victim of Junta`s Mega-Playboy powers and Ryuuji, the jealous boyfriend. In a near future, following a devastating war, a dozen international corporations have come to control the world. After the events at Tuatha de Danaan, Mithril learns of the existence of a secret organization that has the technology to counter the Electronic Cloaking System (ECS). This organization, known as Amalgam, also has "Black Technology" that was obtained from the Whispered.

Amalgram has even more mysterious plans in store, and intends to annihilate Mithril. However, when things couldn't get any worse, Sagara's mission to protect Kaname Chidori is suspended, and everything seems to be falling in place for this new threat.

Miaka YÃºki agrees, and her quest is to find the Seven Seishi of Suzaku. If she succeeds, not only will she save the land, a wish will be granted to her. Incidentally, this same wish will be bestowed to whoever can read the book through to its entirity, but from the moment one starts reading, like Miaka YÃºki, that person becomes a part of the story.

Eventually Yui is also sucked in, and Miaka YÃºki's brother Keisuke reads the story. Yui becomes the Seiryuu no Miko at the request of Kutou's emperor and one of the Seiryuu Seishi, Nakago. Miaka YÃºki falls in love with Suzaku Seishi Tamahome, but their relationship is constantly interrupted throughout the series. Yui also loves Tamahome, which creates some confusion...

One day, Hajiki gets in touch with a client who wanted him to transport a mysterious material known as "GAD" for a high price. When the "GAD" ends up as scrap, it takes the form of a giant humanoid machine known as iron man "Lightning".

From then on, all kinds of people who also owned an iron man appeared before Hajiki. Kanata - an outlaw who used iron man "Zero" to destroy, Aiko - an upperclass young lady who searches for friends with iron man "Messerschmitt", and Takumi - a young man who works for justice with his iron man "Thunder Bolt".

Even though Hajiki is also a iron man user himself now, his thoughts differ... Those who are always seeking for danger, those who want to meet friends and those who fight for justice. As Hajiki is troubled over such differences, he must fight alongside his own iron man against other similar humanoid mechas.

Why did "GAD" and iron men appear before them? The gears of fate for the young men who posess an iron man has begun to work...

The story begins when a pair of high school students (Kei Kurono and Masaru Kato) are seemingly run over by a subway train, after saving the life of a homeless drunk who had fallen onto the tracks. Following their untimely deaths, Kei and Masaru find themselves transported â€” alive and well â€” along with a number of people who have also just died, to the interior of an unfurnished Tokyo condominium from which the Tokyo Tower may be seen - and none of them are able to leave. At one end of the room is a featureless black sphere we later learn is called "Gantz". After a short amount of time, a postwar Japanese exercise radio begins to play from the sphere. By way of green text that appears on the surface of the sphere, Gantz informs those present that their lives have ended. The following words appear on the black sphere's surface: "Your lives have ended. What you do with your new lives is entirely up to me. That's the theory, anyway." (The ADV translations have it as "Your lives are over, you bastards. What you do with your new lives is entirely up to me. So there you have it.") The sphere then opens up to reveal suits that, when worn, amplify the user's attributes, such as strength, speed and agility. Along with the suits are various high-tech weapons with different uses for different situations. Next, information on the Gantz Targets appear on the surface of the sphere, shortly before the Gantz Team are transported to the location of the mission.

Much is still left unknown about the room. It appears to be isolated from the rest of the world through a dimensional barrier. Its door will only open under the condition that the mission is completed. According to the manga, there are reports of similar rooms in Germany, United States and Israel. The appearance of another Japanese team set in Osaka indicates that there is more than one of these in Japan.

In addition to the weapons, suits, and scanners, Gantz holds what appears to be a muscle-bound bald man on life support in the center of the ball. The true identity and purpose of this man is never revealed; but there has been no small amount of implication that he is in some way responsible for the running of the game, selecting players, scoring the individual players' performance, and monitoring the team both during missions and during the 'off hours' in between.

While peeping up girls' skirts at a local shopping mall, Onizuka meets a girl who agrees to go out on a date with him. It all begins with a mysterious case that happened somewhere in Japan in September of 1987. Ever since then, Dr. Katou and Dr. Yonamine have devoted themselves to preparations for a fight with an unknown threat from outer space. They organized and built a research institute on "Futakami" island, where they began building an earth-based Dangaioh. After many years, they succeeded in creating a prototype, but serious opposition threatened the project. Dr. Katou wanted to develop easy-to-produce unmanned Dangaioh while Dr. Yonamine would rather produce manned versions to prevent the danger of robots running wild. The committee ultimately sided with Dr. Yonamine, and Dr. Katou was expelled from the institute.

Revival of "Dangaioh project"

A few years following the expulsion of Dr. Katou, the first experimental robot was completed. Unfortunately, the experiment ended in disaster. The Dangaioh ran recklessly and exploded with the test pilot, killing or injuring most of the research staff. This incident was a huge blow to the project, but the research must continue, as the Dangaioh are the key to the future of the human race. Dr. Yonamine saves the project by rounding up new sponsors, scientists, and rebuilding a new "basement" to continue the Dangaioh project.

The new Dangaioh plans are based on suggestions made by mechanic and designer Miss Miya Shikitani. She suggested using a separate robotic system to control the integrated power. Dividing primary functions to separate components would lessen the burden on the pilot and combining three of the robots can compensate for the reduction in battle abilities. The institute chose teenagers who easily adapt to new environments and gave them a full physical and mental training regimen to ensure the pilot's physical and psychological condition were sufficient.

The research institute reorganized the Dangaioh project and decided on reconstruction. After three years of training and hard work, three pilots were chosen using the advice of Miya Shikitani. They are:

Pilot of Dangaioh B - Amagi Kuya
Pilot of Dangaioh F - Minami Mishio
Pilot of Dangaioh X - Hitomi Chidou

The new Dangaioh is born, based on this three pilot team. They beautifully won their first battle, but the project isn't finished yet. As a matter of fact, the Dangaioh Plan has just begun.. the day an unbelievable threat appeared from the depths of the planet Earth.

Plot Summary: Shirahama Kenichi is an average student who has earned the nickname "Weak Legs" from always getting bullied. One day he meets a cute girl named Furinji Miu who helps him build the courage to begin training at a mysterious dojo where she lives. Plot - A plain young hatter named Sophie has her life changed when an evil witch transforms her into an old woman. Unable to face her family in such a condition, Sophie runs away in search of a way to become young again. Along the way, Sophie helps a turnip headed scarecrow, who repays her by leading her to the moving castle owned by the dreaded wizard Howl. There she befriends Howl's apprentice Markl, Howl's fire demon Calcifer, and eventually, Howl himself. Sophie then becomes the castle's cleaning lady in an effort to not only find the solution to her problem but to save Howl from his own terrible secrets as well.

Amawa Hibiki is a young man just out of college, with an education to be an athletics teacher.
He's been having a hard time finding a job since he graduated, so all his money has gone towards living expenses.
When his landlady demands his first payment to live in her living establishment upfront, he heads to the local middle school to get hired as a teacher.
However, the principal refuses to hire him without hesitation.
She will not hire men as teachers and makes it clear that she hates all men, saying they put no love into their passions and work.
Amawa does not give up and with the help of his landlady, he crossdresses as a woman without a second thought, and gets hired, so he can earn money and also prove the principal wrong.
Now, he has to keep his real gender a secret, and avoid strange situations, including the affections of his students (from both genders).

Kouji Aiba Is A Sixteen~Year~Old Boy Who Packed His Bags & Left His Home On Earth For The Liebe Delta & The Training To Obtain His Level 2 Piloting License. He Journeys To The Space Station Accompanied By His Childhood Friend, Aoi Housen, Whom Kouji Discovers To His Chagrin Has Enrolled In The Liebe Delta's Flight Attendant Program. En Route To The Spaceport Aoi Gives Kouji The Unwelcome News That His Younger Brother, Yuki, Is Also To Attend The Liebe Delta & In Fact The Brothers Will Be In The Same Flight Class Together. Once Aboard The Space Station, The Students & Teaching Staff On The Liebe Delta Were Like Any Other School, Normal & Concerned With Their Own Affairs & Classes. They Even Had A Vacation Period, Known As The Dive Break, When The Ship Ventured Near The Geduld For System Maintenance. Out Of About 1000+ Students, About 500 Stayed For The Break. Unknowingly To All, The Space Station, In The Middle Of The Routine Dive Considered So Regular That It Was Entrusted To The Elite Zwei Cadet Class, Was Sabotaged & The Majority Of The Staff Gassed & Rendered Unconscious. Free Falling Into The Depths Of The Geduld Sea, Where The Resulting Gravity Pressures Would Crush The Station & Kill All Aboard. The Remaining Adults, All Instructors, Sacrificed Their Lives To Save The Majority Of Students On Board. When Their Heroic Actions Proved Unsuccessful & The Liebe Delta Hung On The Verge Of Collapsing, A Mysterious Ship Named Ryvius, Hidden Within The Liebe Delta Activated Itself & Surfaced From The Geduld Sea. There Were A Total Of 515 Personnel On Board The Liebe Delta At The Beginning Of The Dive. Of Which A Total Of 486 Were Successfully Evacuated. Description:
Kagome leads a fairly normal life, in spite of her weird family. Her house is a thousand-year-old Japanese temple, and her grandfather talks about the history of the house endlessly. Legend has it that the old well on the temple grounds keeps a vicious ancient monster at bay; Kagome never believed those legends, until now. The well opens up and sucked Kagome inside transporting her to an ancient time of enchanted forests and giant demons. Kagome is soon confronted by her odd resemblance to Kikyo, the girl who controlled the magical Shikon no Tama talisman and imprisoned the legendary half-demon Inu-Yasha. Upon entering this fantasy world, Kagome is attacked by a demon hunting the Shikon no Tama; she unwittingly releases Inu-Yasha from his imprisonment, only to find that he's no hero.

Plot Summary: In a distant, highly technological future, Tylor, the title character, is a mysterious young man without a real purpose in life, a state of mind that is very hard to determine, and a knack for accidentally getting out of near-death situations with a childishly cavalier attitude. He sometimes does not even seem to realize when he is in danger, which is actually an asset to him on many occasions.
Tylor stumbles his way into the space navy, and soon gains command of a destroyer, to the astonishment of his lieutenant, Yamamoto. It turns out, much to Yamamoto's dismay, that this ship is considered the dumping grounds of the military, and contains all the sorts of characters that should probably not even be let near a paintball gun, let alone a spaceship. However, thanks to Tylor's eccentric leadership, these misfits eventually become the collective saviors of humanity.

This OVA series serves as an immediate prequel to the 1993 OVA series & should be viewed first.
About a hundred years after his cataclysmic battle against one of the Joestar family, the vampire Dio has been fished out of the ocean and freed. Thus begins Josef Joestar and his grandson Jotaro`s involvement in the Joestar-Dio feud as Dio`s freedom awakens the Stand-powers of Josef and street punk Jotaro for the first time. They must gather allying Stand users - warriors imbued with a Tarot card symbol that designates their power and face Dio in order to save Jotaro`s mother Holly who is affected by the curse of Dio.

Plot - Like the previous series, the plot of The Counter Attack of Siberian Yagyu (ã‚·ãƒ™ãƒªã‚¢æŸ³ç”Ÿã®é€†è¥², Siberia Yagyuu no Gyakushuu?) begins in Yagyu Jubei's lifetime. The Northern Yagyu were driven out of Japan into Siberia by the Edo Yagyu. After living several years in Siberia, they changed their name to the Siberian Yagyu. The leader of the Edo Yagyu sent Jubei Yagyu to assassinate Kita Ressai, the head of the Siberian clan. Jubei did not wish to carry out the order, but traveled to Siberia anyway. During his time there, he fell in love and had a daughter named Freesia. Some time later he caught up with Kita Ressai, the leader he had been sent to assassinate. Over Jubei's objections, Kita Ressai provoked a duel between the two while on a frozen body of water. In the heat of the battle, Kita Ressai broke through the ice, drowning Jubei Yagyu's wife and daughter along with him. Freesia remained frozen in a glacier for 300 years, until global warming caused enough of the glacier to melt to free her.

Freesia then learns of the Lovely Eyepatch that her father left to his successor. Freesia is furious when she learns that the Lovely Eyepatch was not left to her, but rather Jiyu Nanohana. Determined to claim the Lovely Eyepatch as the daughter of Jubei Yagyu, she tracks down Jiyu Nanohana, intent on defeating Jiyu and making her suffer. At the same time, the Siberian Yagyu learn of the appearance of Jubei Yagyu the Second and track down Jiyu Nanohana in an attempt to satisfy their 300 year old grudge against Jubei Yagyu.

What ensues is a three way battle between the Siberian Yagyu, Freesia Yagyu and Yagyu Jubei's succesor, Jiyu Nanohana. A major theme of the series is power and how differently people react to it. Jiyu doesn't want the responsibility and she's afraid to lose herself for power while Freesia doesn't understand anyone who isn't willing to have more power.

Jubei-chan: The Ninja Girl

Plot - he main conflict in The Secret of the Lovely Eyepatch (ãƒ©ãƒ–ãƒªãƒ¼çœ¼å¸¯ã®ç§˜å¯†ï½ž, Raburii Gantai no Himitsu?) is between the Yagyu Jubei and Ryujoji schools. The rivalry was seemingly ended 300 years before the events of the series, when Yagyu Jubei defeated the Ryujoji school champion. Dying from his wounds, Jubei told his loyal companion Koinosuke to find someone with "plump, bouncy bon bons" and give her his eyepatch that contained a lifetime's worth of sword techniques. Unknowingly to Koinosuke, the Ryujoji clan plots their revenge.

After 300 years of searching, Koinosuke finds Jiyu Nanohana in modern Japan. Her figure makes her the ideal candidate to be the next Jubei. He approaches her and tries to give her the eyepatch but she steadfastly refuses. Only when they are attacked by a Ryujoji swordsman does she don the eyepatch and dispose of him. They eventually find out that the Ryujoji clan believes it will be vindicated once the reincarnation of Jubei is defeated.

The introductory episodes follow the "Monster of the Week" formula. Later episodes delve into the pain of losing Jubei's mother and the sacrifice that Jiyu has to make in order to live a double-life as Jubei.
