M.U.G.E.N is a freeware 2D fighting game engine designed by Elecbyte, written in C with the Allegro library. The engine was originally released in July 17, 1999. Beta versions of it were made to work on DOS, Linux and Windows platforms, distributed through their website or to donators via email. With the release of the Linux version, support for DOS ceased.
The engine allows anyone to create characters, background stages and other game objects through interpreted text files, graphics, and sound compilations. It supports various types of audio formats such as MP3, ADX, OGG and MIDI as background music during gameplay or at other points such as an introduction or the select screen. The engine allows for most of the same type of functionality found in most any commercial 2D fighting game, up to and including close recreation of those games' characters and gameplay.
Alright guys, you have been waiting a long time for a SNK game and now you guys got it
lol!! This game is pretty much MVC style with insane ass combos and super moves so it
should be easy for you guys to pick up and play!!
Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike HD Remix Demo Released!!
Alright guys, well it took a while but somebody had to do it lol!!
Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike HD Mugen demo is released, please note that this game is just a demo, so there might be a couple of things wrong with it. Also please note that a lot of people worked on this game, you can check out who in the credits.
Also note that I forgot to change the rounds from 1 to 2, you can do this by opening the fight.def with notepad in the data folder. After that you press Ctrl+F and search for:
After that you change the number of match rounds to whatever you like!!
And we would like to thank everyone that made this possible because without you guys this stuff wouldn't be possible.
Welcome back to Super Street Fighter 2 HR Mugen Remix, now Street Fighter Legends!!!
The reason the game is changed is because originally this game was going to be MVC style (since it already had the combo chaining) and now since there are patches for most of the SF characters I decided to do the game like this. Also the reason why the scoring is removed is because it causes the characters to be buggy and who cares about scoring in a fighting game you just want to own people lol!!
Please note that this game is for Mugen 1.0 so that's way the screenpack doesn't have much going on in it and it's pretty much an edit of the Street Fighter Alpha 3 Screenpack by Hatabow, so you may need a decent comp to run this!! Also there is still a lot more to be done with this game such as more characters, stages, hitsparks, win quotes, some changes in the screenpack, intro etc.!!
Old versions of SSF2THD Characters and Screenpack Released!!
Alright guys, since I'm redoing the game with new sprites I decided to release the old versions of the characters as well as the screenpack:)
***Please note the lifebars won't work for your characters as it causes you to change code in your characters which could screw them up, that's why there isn't any lifebars or no lifebars show up when fighting***
Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star HD Mugen Released!!
Alright guys, I've finally got this baby released lol so I hope you guys enjoy!! Also as a special for you guys included with the game is the Legend of Raoh: Chapter of Death in Love fansubbed film which is a MKV file so you guys may need to update your codecs in order to view it!
Update: Download this file and overwrite it with the one that's in the data folder: fight.def
It's to fix the combo problem!!
***For those of you guys having the Video Resolution Error Do the Following***
1. Open the Data folder and open the mugen.cfg file with notepad and adjust the following:
;Enter the width and height of the resolution you want to set here.
;The optimal resolution is 320x240, but if your video card has problems
;You may want to try 640x480.
Width = 1280
Height = 960
Change the above to whatever you want, and adjust this:
;Choose from Hardware, Software, Windowed, Overlay, Safe and None
;Hardware and Software run in full-screen. Windowed and Overlay
;run in a window. The windowed modes require you to set Depth to
;whatever color depth you are using for you desktop. The best results
;are when you run in 16-bit color. There is no advantage to running
;in 32-bit color. If Hardware, Software and Windowed fail, try Safe.
;None uses GDI to draw, so it's very slow. Use None only if
;you cannot get anything else to work.
;Overlay is not supported by all video cards, but can be faster than
;Windowed if it works.
DXmode = software
